Cardiology
Chest pain, blood pressure and heart rhythm - assessed the same day, with ECG and echo in-house.
What this clinicis actually for.
Heart problems rarely announce themselves clearly. Most people arrive with something vague - pressure in the chest while climbing stairs, unusual tiredness, a BP reading a chemist took. This department exists to settle those questions quickly rather than schedule them: ECG, echo and TMT are all in this building, so a first visit usually ends with an answer instead of a list of tests to arrange elsewhere.
Done in-house, usually the same day: ECG · 2D Echo · TMT
- Chest pain assessmentSudden or repeated chest pain, checked with an ECG before you leave the building.
- High blood pressureReadings that stay high, and the changes that bring them down and keep them there.
- Palpitations & rhythm problemsA heart that races, skips or thumps - traced on an ECG to find why.
- Heart failure follow-upRegular review when the heart pumps weakly, to control breathlessness and swelling.
- After a heart attackRecovery checks, medicines, and honest answers on what you can safely do again.
- Cholesterol & lipid reviewA blood test and a plan if cholesterol is high or runs in your family.
- ECGA five-minute trace of your heartbeat, read by the doctor in the same visit.
- 2D EchocardiogramAn ultrasound showing how well the heart's valves and pumping are working.
- Treadmill test (TMT)Walking on a treadmill while monitored, to see how the heart copes under effort.
- 24-hour BP monitoringA cuff worn for a day, so we see your real blood pressure - not the nervous reading.
- Pre-surgery heart clearanceThe heart check a surgeon asks for before an operation.
When to wait, and when not to.
Come in straight away if
Don't book an appointment for these. Come to emergency, or call +91 9100005195.
- Chest pain or heavy pressure lasting more than a few minutes - do not drive yourself, call for help
- Chest discomfort spreading to the jaw, neck, back or either arm
- Sudden breathlessness at rest, or waking at night gasping
- Fainting, or nearly fainting, with a racing or pounding heartbeat
- Cold sweat, nausea and unease alongside chest discomfort - common in women and in people with diabetes
Lowering the risk
What actually makes a difference, not folklore.
- Know your numbers: blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, checked once a year after 30
- Stop tobacco in every form - it is the single biggest change most people can make
- Thirty minutes of brisk walking most days beats occasional hard exercise
- Cut down salt, deep-fried food and reused cooking oil
- Treat diabetes and blood pressure properly - they damage the heart quietly, long before symptoms
Looking after yourself
Alongside treatment - never instead of it.
- Take heart and BP medicines every day, at the same time - not only when you feel unwell
- Never stop a heart medicine because you feel better; ask first
- Keep a home BP diary and bring it to appointments
- Weigh yourself daily if you have heart failure, and report a sudden gain
- Keep a written list of your medicines in your wallet, for an emergency
This page is general information, not a diagnosis. It cannot account for your history, your medicines or your test results, and it is no substitute for being examined. If something here matches what you're experiencing, that is a reason to see a doctor - not a reason to treat yourself.
