Kidney stones are the reason most people find this clinic, and in this part of Telangana they are common enough to be seasonal. The first visit sorts the emergency from the manageable: a stone that is obstructing a kidney needs relieving today, a small one that will pass on its own needs fluids, a painkiller and a date to check it has.
The second large group is men over fifty with a prostate that has begun to interfere - a slow stream, getting up several times a night, a sense of never quite emptying. That is investigated properly, because the treatment for an enlarged prostate and the treatment for a cancer start from the same set of symptoms and only a test tells them apart.
Almost all stone and prostate surgery here is endoscopic - through the natural passage or a keyhole in the flank, with no open cut. Ultrasound is done in the room, so a first visit usually ends with the stone measured and located rather than merely suspected.
