Antenatal care is most of this clinic. A first visit dates the pregnancy, orders the blood work and sets the vaccination schedule; after that the visits run to a fixed rhythm that tightens as the date approaches, so anything drifting - blood pressure, sugars, the baby's growth - is caught while there is still time to act on it.
The rest is gynaecology: periods that are heavy, painful or have stopped, discharge and infection, fibroids and cysts, contraception, fertility questions and the years around menopause. Ultrasound is done in the consulting room, so most of those questions are answered in the same visit instead of at the next one.
Deliveries and gynaecological surgery run out of a theatre staffed round the clock. A normal delivery is the aim wherever it is safe to aim for one. Where it isn't, the caesarean is planned in advance and the reason is explained before the day rather than on it.
